14^th June (Saturday) – Task 1

Welcome, apologies and absences

- Contacts with EU Commission about budget expenses; prevision that Gdansk meeting could be the last meeting of the network,

With a revision about situation of contents in each country, it was decided to nominate reviewers of the contents for each country.

B– Definition of the book title and other arrangements

It was decided that the book title is “Towards the harmonisation of Electrical and Information Engineering Education in Europe”.

Other arrangements were decided about logos and other text at the book cover and back pages: Logos of EAEEIE, THEIERE, Club EEA; text “ Based in the result of the EU funded Thematic Network THEIERE: Thematic Harmonisation in Electrical and Information EngineeRing in Europe; Project Nr. 10063-CP-1-2002-1- PT-ERASMUS-TN

C - Deadlines: 1^st July, release 8 available at THEIERE website, feedback from reviewers 7^th July.

D - Portal

Content is in development. Introduction of keywords and percentages related to each specialisation in the search engine.

3 – Synthesis of a common curriculum for bachelor degree.

It was decided that curricula to be proposed for each specialisation presents a common structure where courses on

Bases of Engineering: 30%

Bases of EIE: 30%

Specialisation: 30%

Non-technical subjects: 10 %

Specialisations and team coordinators are: Computers (Penti Lappalainen), Electronics (Olivier Bonnaud), Communications (Cyril Burkley), Power Systems (Jorge Esteves) and Automation and Control (Jan Ligus).

It was decided to divide attendees by specialisation groups in order to prepare proposals for each specialisation curriculum.

15^th June (Sunday)

Following the precedent day, each specialisation team continued his work in order to prepare proposals for each specialisation curricula.

At the end, each team coordinator presented their teamwork. Curricula for each specialisation was proposed for a three year degree ( Bachelor in EIE), based on:

Bases of Engineering: 30%

Bases of EIE: 30%

Specialisation: 30%

Non-technical subjects: 10 %

A proposal of coordinated structure began to be prepared and Olivier Bonnaud presented a first coordination structure proposal.

4 - Task 2 – Pedagogical resources

Report was presented by Montse Novell (UPC-Barcelona) on the present status of all pedagogical resources available and discussed by all attendees.

Presentations about pedagogical resources developed by Jan Ligus, (TU Kosice, Slovakia) and Juan Carlos Burguillo, University of Vigo, on the new tools available resulting from the joint work with Universidad Politecnica de Valencia, both from Spain.

5 – Proposition from Université Henri Poincaré Nancy 1 for development and diffusion of some courses under their system
